Anatomy of a Psycho is an old, obscure movie. It's not impossible to find on DVD, but it doesn't have the presence that some such movies do.

DVD options include releases by Reel Enterprises and Alpha Video. There's a 2 pack by Vinegar Syndrome and a multi-pack called Night Screams.

I saw it as part of the Night Screams 50 pack.

Video:

1.33: This is the TV standard ratio. The image is very trashy and dark.

Audio:

2.0 mono: The audio is plagued by white noise with moments of bad crackling. It's distorted almost to the point of being difficult to understand.

Packaging:

The discs are in individual sleeves which all fit into a large plastic box.

The sleeves offer plot summaries, release dates, and headlining stars. These details aren't always accurate, and I learned in past sets from this company not to rely on them.

Extras:

There are no extras of any kind.

Other Editions:

The Reel Enterprises and Alpha Video DVD's appear to be nothing special. Neither mentions remastering or extras. Reviews do not get into the presentation quality so I can't say how it stacks up against the Night Screams version.

The 2 pack also offers The Lonely Sex. Reviews praise the quality saying it's an upgrade from other presentations. The downside is that The Lonely Sex may be incomplete. There are no extras.

Final Thoughts:

The 2 pack is your best bet for any sort of decently quality at least for this title, the companion title is in question. The other DVD's can be hard to find and pricy so you might want to watch for a sale. The Night Screams pack is probably as good as you're going to get from the others if you can find it for a good price.
