Smallville season 3 has 22 episodes.

1) Exile

Clark has been living in Metropolis under the influence of red Kryptonite for 3 months. A criminal boss finds him out and wants to hire him to steal from Lionel. Meanwhile Lex is trapped on a deserted island.

-The use of red K is overdone, but this serves to show that Clark is still immature despite his strengths of character. Rutger Hauer is Morgan Edge.

2) Phoenix

Jonathan makes a deal with Jor El to bring Clark back, but it won’t come without a price. Once he’s himself again Clark double-crosses the crime boss that hired him, but when the guy figures out Clark’s weakness he’ll bend the fledgling hero to his will.

-Rutger Hauer is Morgan Edge one more time.

3) Extinction

Someone is hunting meteor freaks, and he’s taking them out permanently. When he saves Lana’s life she jumps to his defense putting her at odds with Clark who is next on the killer’s list. It would be nothing to worry about except that the guy has Kryptonite bullets.

-The opposite approaches to morality is interesting. Clark sees black and white, Lana see shades of gray. Putting yourself in her shoes it's easy to see her point of view, but the motives of her savior prove to be vastly important.

4) Slumber

Clark watches a girl get pulled into the ground by a dark force. Despite his powers he’s unable to find her until she mysteriously pops up again later needing his help. The mysterious robed figure after her shrugs off Clark’s attacks forcing the hero to fight with investigation rather than brawn.

-There are more horror elements in this one than usual which is fun.

5) Perry

After an accident Clark saves Perry White, a respected reporter turned drunk after a run-in with Lionel Luthor. Perry sees Clark do some amazing things and sets out uncover all his secrets. Even when strongarmed by Lex and the law Perry won’t go away. What can Clark do to shut this guy up and make him go away?

-Michael McKean is Perry White in a humorous but believable performance.

6) Relic

Lana’s uncle, convicted of murdering his wife, pleads his innocence before his niece. He claims a mysterious drifter is to blame, a drifter that looks exactly like Clark. A Kryptonian artifact allows Clark glimpses into the past as he searches out the mystery of Jor El and his connection to the murder of Lana’s aunt.

-Episodes that put the regular characters into the roles of people from the past are not among my favorite concepts. Lois & Clark is another Superman series that did it. It does help that this one explains the look-alike with blood relation. Some elements of mystery strengthen the story. William B. Davis returns as Mayor Tate.

7) Magnetic

A combination of Kryptonite and an MRI gives Seth control over magnetism. He’s able to alter Lana's cerebral impulses to make her do whatever he wants. Clark suspects something strange, but his warnings come off as jealousy. Now with Lana wanted by the law the stakes are raised.

-Naturally the villain of the week sets his sights on either Lana or Chloe.

8) Shattered

Lex finds criminal evidence against his father. Events point to Lex losing his mind, and he suspects he’s being set up so Lionel can cover his guilt. Even if that’s true, though, Lex is acting delusional.

9) Asylum

Lex is in the Metropolis version of Arkham Asylum. When Clark goes to visit he sees a lot of familiar faces who concoct a revenge plot. Lionel sets in motion a plot to fry the knowledge of his guilt out of Lex’s head.

-This is a tense episode played exceptionally well by Rosenbaum. Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Shawn Ashmore reprise their roles.

10) Whisper

Clark loses his sight. His hearing attempts to compensate, but that is causing problems of its own. When Pete is kidnapped Clark must learn to control his super hearing if he is to save his friend.

-Clark's new power this season.

11) Delete

Chloe’s life is in shambles after tangling with Lionel when Clark attempts to murder her. Someone is able to hypnotize people using binary code, and if he can get to Clark he can get to anyone.

12) Hereafter

Jordan can see the deaths of anyone he touches. When Lana and her friend are kidnapped Jordan and Clark team up to find them and change the burning deaths Jordan has foreseen.

-This seems to be the substitute for the Ryan-centric episodes this season.

13) Velocity

Clark sets out to stop an illegal street race only to find that Pete is the star of the show. As the two clash, only by getting stabbed in the back will Pete realize who his true friends are, but with Clark incapacitated it may be too late.

14) Obsession

Clark reveals himself to Alicia who has teleportation abilities. They seem to be kindred spirits until she develops an unhealthy obsession that puts Lana and the Kents in danger.

15) Resurrection

Clark stands by a friend whose brother is dying, but when the dead man shows up in the Kent barn, Clark investigates to discover a Luthorcorp experiment that ties back to the hero himself. As Clark tries to help, his friend holds the hospital hostage in order to get his again-dying brother a liver. When Clark's father goes under the knife for heart surgery he becomes the ideal candidate for a liver donor even if it means his death.

-Bruce Harwood has a small role.

16) Crisis

Clark goes to work with Pete at a teen crisis hotline. A desperate call comes in from Lana who is being hunted. And yet Lana is fine. Could the call have come from the future? Clark and Pete race to figure out what's going on before Lana is murdered.

17) Legacy

Lionel renews his interest in the caves while Jor El calls for Jonathan to fulfill his promise. Lionel goes after Dr. Swann, and Jonathan goes after Lionel. Meanwhile Lex works on a plan to get his father thrown in jail.

-Christopher Reeve reprises his role.

18) Truth

Chloe infiltrates Luthorcorp and is exposed to an experiment. Now no one in her presence can resist telling her the absolute truth about whatever she asks. This is bad news for Clark’s secret, but Chloe may not live long enough to uncover it.

19) Memoria

Lex appears to be snapping again. He’s having delusions as the result of therapy to uncover the memories he lost by the electroshock treatment. What he gets instead is the truth about what happened to Julian.

20) Talisman

An artifact found in the caves gives a student Superman-like powers. Clark must stop him while Lex and Lionel both chase after the artifact.

-Teryl Rothery has a cameo.

21) Forsaken

As Lana prepares to move to Paris, Emily, now considerably older and with the ability to phase through solid objects, imprisons her former best friend and kills everyone that threatens her plans. With everyone thinking Lana has left for Paris nobody realizes she’s even in danger.

22) Covenant

A naked girl shows up on Clark’s doorstep claiming to be Kara from Krypton. She wants to take Kal with her, and it may be impossible to stop her from getting what she wants.
